Romania’s accession to the European Union has brought a series of development opportunities in the Romanian railway business sector, but also the threat of having a common market based on free competitiveness. Rolling stock manufacturers and operators need to become aware of the possibility of expanding beyond Romanian borders. They also need to find the appropriate means in order to stay ahead of the foreign competitors that are interested in setting up their business in Romania. Communication between the competitors and the decision factors that exist on the domestic rail transport market represents the basis for an efficient and loyal competitiveness. That is why it should be promoted through all the possible measures and resources. In order to support this idea, Club Feroviar will organize the 4th Railway Operators and Rolling Stock Forum. The event will take place in Poiana Brasov, during March 26-27, 2009. The reunion is an opportunity for railway operators and railway market representatives to launch their offers, in the most advantageous and effective way, and to obtain valuable business contacts. Extended over two days, the conference will bring in the attention of the participants topics such as: the policies for the support and promotion of passenger and freight railway transport, the acquisition problem of energetic efficient and eco-friendly rolling stock, the recourse to technologies capable of reducing the energetic consumption, carbon dioxide emissions and noxious gases, the reduction of the noise, the alignment of the rolling stock fleet to the European standards, as well as its improvement, the strategies to attract customers towards the railway transport system, the relations between railway operators, central and local authorities and the infrastructure manager, as well as the assessment of potential financing sources. The rolling stock issue will also be debated on, as well as the demands and specifications the rolling stock should meet in order to provide a successful operation service. * The presentations made by the speakers during the two days events can be found on the Program web page. |
